How to watch college football without cable (2026)

Every legal way to stream college football in 2026: free antenna games, ESPN Unlimited, FOX One, Peacock, Paramount+, HBO Max, Sling, YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV and DIRECTV, with verified prices and the cheapest combo for each conference.

College football is split across more channels than any other sport: four broadcast networks, the CW, five ESPN channels plus ESPN+, three conference networks, FS1, CBS Sports Network, TNT, USA and Peacock. No single cheap app has all of them, so the trick is to match services to the channels your team actually plays on. Prices below are list prices checked October 16, 2026 on each provider's own site.

Step 1: Get the free games with an antenna

ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC and The CW air a large share of the biggest games (Big Noon Saturday on FOX, Big Ten on CBS and NBC, SEC and ACC games on ABC). If you can pick up those stations, an antenna gets them free. Check reception at the FCC's DTV map.

Step 2: Add the cable channels your conference uses

ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SEC Network, ACC Network, ESPN+ (SEC, ACC, Big 12)

FOX, FS1 and Big Ten Network (Big Ten, Big 12)

NBC and Peacock (Big Ten, Notre Dame)

CBS (Big Ten, Army-Navy)

TNT, truTV and TBS (Big 12)

CBS Sports Network, USA Network (Mountain West, Pac-12, service academies)

No standalone app carries CBS Sports Network, and it isn't part of Paramount+. You need a live TV service such as YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV or DIRECTV MySports. USA Network is also on those and on Sling Blue.

FAQ

Can I watch college football for free?

Yes, games on ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC and The CW are free over the air with an antenna if you can receive those stations. Everything on ESPN, SEC Network, Big Ten Network, FS1 and similar cable channels needs a paid service.

What's the single best streaming service for college football?

For one app that carries nearly everything, YouTube TV's Sports Plan ($64.99/mo) or DIRECTV MySports ($64.99/mo) carry the broadcast networks (DIRECTV only in some markets), the ESPN networks, SEC/ACC/Big Ten Network, FS1, CBS Sports Network and TNT. Cheaper combos of single-network apps usually beat them; see the table above.

Is ESPN Unlimited enough for college football?

It covers ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SEC Network, ACC Network, ESPN+, ESPN's ABC games and CW games ($31.99/mo). It doesn't include FOX, FS1, Big Ten Network, CBS, NBC/Peacock or TNT.

Can I use Sling day passes for college football?

No. Sling says its Day and Week Passes are no longer available, so you need a monthly plan (you can cancel after the season).
